Our Vision

Vision for 2007

Discipleship

Our vision is all about Discipleship:

1. Discipling the un-churched into the Kingdom and into a personal friendship with Jesus.
2. Discipling the church community in the ways of God and ministry

Every person is on a spiritual journey with some along that journey more than others. Discipleship is a key factor that moves us along.
Whether we are young or old, a long time in the faith or a new Christian, we can all get involved in discipleship. It is what we are told to do in the Great Commission.

Discipling the un-churched

People, who perhaps do not go to a church, or even considered Christianity may still be seeking for something, someone, God. We can help disciple them into the Kingdom. It’s about:
  1. Learning how to connect with people - making genuine friends with someone, taking hold of their hand and help them along a spiritual path.
  2. Its about being confident to share our faith and to give an account of what God has done in our own lives.
  3. Its about living by example and showing a different way

Discipling the Church Community

This is about our own walk with God and the expression of our service to God. God has been encouraging us to “Up our game”; to build a new momentum and to increase our level of commitment.

Having a resolve to embrace discipleship is the first key step. It will mean different things for different people. However it is God’s intention that we all serve Him in some capacity or other according to our gifts. It is also His intention that we walk with Him wholeheartedly, single minded and in an upright way, demonstrating a life of love towards others. There is also a way whereby we can disciple each other - as iron sharpening iron.
