GRASS - Guys reading and sharing scripture.=

GRASS or Guys Reading And Sharing Scripture is a new initiative within the M*A*S*H ministry that has been put into place by Rich Lake.  For years Rich has found it very difficult to make time within his day to day life to get into God's word and decided that it was time to stop making excuses and put it right.  After talking with several other men within the church, Rich realised that he was not alone in this and so came up with a solution to help others as well as himself. 

GRASS is a way of helping men to enter the word of God together, and use it to encourage one another on a daily basis.  It is a very simple and effective way for the men of Northgate Church to engage with the word, with one another and with men beyond our community.   

How it works:-

1) Find someone to work with - a friend, collegue, relation etc who also wants to change this area in their life.

2) Start each day to read a passage of the bible - even just a few verses, even just one verse! Then pick one verse and e-mail or text it to your "buddy" you can add a little thought to go with it if appropriate.

3) Hopefully they will send one back to you.

4) After about a month of doing this - it would be good to either find a new "buddy" to e-mail or add a second or third "buddy" to your e-mail list.

What could happen:-

If each person shared with a new buddy each month, after 12 months 20,000 people could be invovled and after 2 years over 80 million men could be reading and sharing the Bible on a daily basis.  The word of God is powerful - it is like a two edged sword - we need to get into it!!
